Acca sellowiana, Feijoa sellowiana, called pineapple guava in Dutch, is a medium-sized evergreen shrub from South America, with a bushy habit and decorative, green ellipse-shaped leaves with a silver-gray underside. This Brazilian guava blooms from June to October with fragrant, pinkish-white flowers with bright red stamens, after fertilization followed by edible green-red fruits with a sweet and sour pineapple flavor. Acca sellowiana likes a sheltered place in full sun and a neutral to calcareous, well-permeable, especially during the fruit season, not too dry soil.
