Also known as Palma Yatay or yatay coconuts, it belongs to the Arecaceae family (formerly Palmaceae) and comes from Argentina and Uruguay. Very elegant monoecious palm, excellent as a solitary example to decorate parks and gardens. It lives well in full sun, cold tolerant, ideal for temperate gardens. It requires abundant water and adapts to all types of soils, be they limestone, sandy and clayey.
